The Kingdom if Barad came first and has always been lead by a MONARCHY consisting of an Emperor and his wife, the Empress. In the beginning, they were a highly spiritual people who believed they were carrying out the orders of the gods themselves, but as the years grew on and the continent grew bigger, some ideals faded and powers divided. The Emperor holds little power over the people, but whether or not that came naturally is up to debate. While he does oversee the entire country, there is another group of people called the HIGH COUNCIL OF THE TWELVE that come together to discuss political matters that concern Barad. The Emperor has a say, but ultimately, there is a vote and the High Council usually has the last say. With the stress and tension of Ostirion looming overhead, it is hard to discern who is truly faithful to the crown and who is only in it for the power.

The actual country is beautiful and vast. Barad takes pride in its rolling hills, sparkling rivers and tall mountain peaks. It is the most bountiful in terms of nature and their "fear" of technology is what helps keep the countryside so beautiful. The main capital of Barad is pristine and white and the buildings are all intricately decorated and adorned with flowers and creeping plants. The architecture is unique and mixes natural stone with metals. One of the biggest landmarks to note is their giant Grand Crystal, which towers high into the sky.
